Google Circles Surpasses Facebook’s Sharing Capabilities By a Mile

Brief History

Google has been around since 1998, and since then has become a huge icon on the Internet. Larry Page and Sergey Brin actually started Google while they were attending college. The very first Google search engine was for Harvard students only, however, as the word spread from student to student they soon let other universities also use their invention.

These two college students were on a mission, and that mission was to organize the world’s information to where it could be accessed by anyone in the universe. Well, Google has done that and much more.

In fact, the actual mechanism Google uses to rank websites has been patented.

Google had brought about many changes over the years which have all been designed to make the user experience more pleasurable. Below are just some of the wonderful tools Google has offered to everyone, and all of them are absolutely free.

An Entire Suite of Webmaster Tools

  • Google Places
  • Google Maps
  • Google Language Translator
  • Blogging Platform through Blogger.com
  • Google Docs
  • Email Through Gmail
  • Google Chrome

Google has tried to cover all the bases when it comes to giving people what they want, and now is no different. Google has now given birth to Google Circles, and will be in competition with Facebook.

What is Google Circles?

Google Circles will allow you to group people into family, friends, work associates, and more. You will be able to chat, share photos, and videos on Google Circles the same way you do on Facebook. One major difference between the two is known as “selective sharing”. For example, if you want to just share information with people in your work circle, that information will not be seen by your friends, or family circles. The functionality of being able to message different groups is amazing!

This feature alone is worth taking at look at Google Circles. Social media has proven that it is not just a fad, and that it will be around for a very long time. Google Circles is only a part of what Google has planned. They are in the process of launching different parts of their Google + program. Google Circles happens to be only one part of that program.

At this point in time it is unknown if Google Circles will have the equivalent of the Facebook fan page, but that certainly should not be ruled out. Google always finds a way of giving the public what it desires, so learning how to get around in Google Circles is probably a good idea. This is especially true if you have an online business.

Change is always hard and some people resist it completely. Social media is the king of communication over all the world, and is only going to get stronger, so join in and enjoy the ride. Google Circles may be just the transportation you have been waiting for.
