The social media powerhouse known as “Twitter” seeks to captivate our attention and draw us into its alluring net yet again by introducing the option to share “tweets” of your choice with others via email!

Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging website that allows it’s users to communicate news, messages, thoughts, opinions and other relevant real time data using 140 character posts via their website.
Founded by Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams in March 2006. Launched publicly in July 2006. Since it’s inception people worldwide have taken a liking to the media giant.

“Tweets”, (as the 140 character messages are called) have become a mainstay in our modern society and don’t seem to be flittering away anytime soon.

This is a new and exciting prospect for users and fans of Twitter because as a user of the service you don’t want to just type your tweet and have it sit there stagnant do you? No, you want your tweet to take flight as a bird itself and go and spread your message. So the ability to bring in even more admirers/followers of your capricious/ingenious musings is what it’s all about in the long run.

Twitter has used mainly one method to promote it’s presence since it’s inception in 2006. The “promoted tweet”, which will show up in random users’ accounts and looks like a standard tweet. Or in all users’ accounts when they do a search on the website. Twitter has been working on a plan to regularly incorporate these “promoted tweets” more prominently into users accounts in order to secure a spot for more advertising that will create more revenue in the future.

This “in house” method of advertising seems to have worked out quite well for the savvy company so far. And with the addition of using the users email to promote the site from within in order to reach those who have been as of yet, untouched by this arm of the media. Growth and revenue are sure to continue for the company.
